“The celebration of womanhood resonates in Gurmit Campbell’s sensual jewels. Gurmit is making a welcome return – her fresh approach and her unconventional pieces carefully balance sophistication and simplicity.” - Joanna Hardy
Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe was a fashion muse, a jeweller and sculptor.
I was inspired by Torun and her life the first moment my sculptor husband then, Olivier Strebelle showed me her bracelet watch in 1989.
The watch, like her, had a Scandinavien minimalism . It had an aura of a zen like purity.
I wanted to breath her and her experiences.
Like Torun, I had the great futune of being the muse of Yves Saint Laurant, Dior’s, Givenchy and Azzadine Alaia.
Like Torun, I became a jeweller and sculptor.
I was honoured to meet her personally when I finally found her in Jarkarta in 2004.
Gurmit’s Yoni collection is inspired by “yoni” a woman’s fertility symbol. The root of 'yoni' is the Sanskrit word 'yuj' meaning 'to unite'. The yoni is the crucible where things are combined (male and female, mother and fetus).
Inspiration behind the Gurmit Campbell's Rosebud rings.
